The Individual Learning Program is a flexible, practice based program that can easily fit into your busy schedule when and where you choose. It is a structured, self-directed learning activity designed to assist you in introducing evidence-based knowledge into your practice. The variety of modules provided with your membership contain relevant family practice cases, an evidence based summary of key information, a commentary with the cases as well as practical handouts and/or chart aids that can be used in your practice. Each module is accompanied by a comprehensive, self-reflective log sheet. Each completed log sheet is approved by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for 2 MAINPRO-C credits.
OPTIONS : Participants have three options. If you choose to register for Option A , you will receive all of the modules published during your membership year, as they become available (14 modules annually). If you choose Option B , you will receive 9 modules that you select from the previous year's list of topics. If you choose Option C , you will receive 6 modules that you select from the previous year's list of topics. Additional module topics may be purchased for an extra fee.
* Airmail delivery included. Modules
The Foundation for Medical Practice Education publishes 14 educational modules per year for its members, and has a library of over 70 current topics that are available in both English and French. Modules are developed by practising family physicians and reviewed by specialists in the field.
Study Credits The Program has been accredited by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for two MAINPRO-C credits per module when accompanied by a self-reflective completed log sheet. These credits also qualify for the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award Category 1 credits and the American Academy of Family Physicians prescribed credits. Participants who wish to receive credits must undertake a self-study of each module and complete a personal learning log to provide satisfactory evidence that they have reflected on the educational material within the context of their own practices. Instructions on obtaining MAINPRO-C credits will accompany the materials received once the participant has completed the registration process with the Program.
